As summer draws nearer, Fandango has once again released its annual Moviegoing Trends & Insights Study, just in time for CinemaCon. This convention, a major event for the National Association of Theatre Owners, will be held in Las Vegas from April 8-11, providing exhibitors a sneak peek into the future.
Based on feedback from over 6,000 individuals, including both casual moviegoers and loyal Fandango users, the study offers a deep dive into last year’s movie habits and looks forward with anticipation. What’s evident is that people’s love for the big screen remains strong, especially as excitement builds for the upcoming summer blockbusters.
With Deadpool & Wolverine, Bad Boys: Ride or Die, and Despicable Me 4 leading the pack, the summer of 2024 is gearing up to be a season filled with excitement. These movies are at the top of everyone’s must-watch list, offering a perfect mix of action, laughs, and family-friendly fun. The buzz surrounding these releases tells us something bigger – people aren’t just craving movies; they’re longing for experiences that whisk them away from the ordinary.
And it’s not just about what’s on the screen anymore. A recent study shows that more and more folks are drawn to premium viewing experiences like IMAX or 4DX. In fact, a whopping 74% of those who’ve experienced movies in these premium formats say it really amps up the enjoyment. And who can resist grabbing some goodies while you’re there? A whopping 96% of moviegoers are all in for indulging in treats at the multiplex.
